I love this game. It’s taken my full attention for weeks, now going on months and eventually years. It’s a great game. It’s very addictive and hard to let go of, however, there’s a bug with the fishing line that gets on my nerves. So much so that I avoid fishing unless I’m in desperate need of ‘G’. It happens at random, too. I would get a bite, catch the fish, then afterward the reeling sound will still play. You can exit back to the title and the sound will still be there, which means you have to completely close the app and reopen it to make it go away.
This bug can happen at any time when you catch a fish and there’s nothing that can stop it unless you restart the game once more. It’s very annoying because I’ll have to save where I’m at then close the app just to make this sound go away. I could be mining, foraging, at a festival, or in the middle of dialogue and the glitched reeling sound will play indefinitely till I restart my game. I’ve read there’s no known solution on a wiki, so to my knowledge this problem has been going on for a while and hasn’t been patched just yet. I’m asking this gets fixed asap. Of course, take all the time it needs because game coding and all that takes a lot of time and effort. But this bug is very inconvenient and can ruin someone’s gameplay entirely just because it’s that annoying.
I enjoy this game very much and it’s one of my favorites of all time. I first played this game on my laptop in 2020 with a controller and it was very smooth. Controls were complete and easy and it only crashed like twice in my 200+ of gameplay. However I bought the game for my iPad with PS4 controller just now (August 2023) and it was a huge downgrade. Controls are not the same and as complete as the one I have for my laptop. You still need to use the touchscreen to do other things, and yet there are still some controls that aren’t available (like extracting just one item from the inventory, like if I only wanted one piece of wood from my pile of 999 wood from the chest). It also crashes very frequently, from the start screen, to processing geodes, sometimes it hangs while saving the game and so I would need to do the whole day all over again. I’m pretty sad about that, I thought I could enjoy this game on a lighter gadget. I still love this game with all my heart but it seems that I’ll have to go back to using my laptop to play. Please get this game, it’s one of the best, just not on the iPad at the very least.
Stardew Valley is an amazing game, and even better that they brought it to mobile. The reason I rate it 3 stars is due to the crashes and poor controller support. When playing a PC/Console game on mobile, it is almost necessary to use a controller for a smooth experience. This mobile version of Stardew is missing a lot of function while using a controller causing me to switch over to touchscreen to use certain functions in the game. This is very annoying at times and even causes crashes here and there causing me to restart the day all over again. The game seems to not like me switching from using the touchscreen to the controller and causes it to crash. If a patch could be released to provide full functionality for controllers, these problems wouldn’t exist! Keep in mind I have experienced crashes on several different controllers including PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch Pro controllers.
I made it past a certain point in the game which lets just say isnt in stardew valley. Made it entirely to the top with 2 hours until I passed out. Guess what my game decided it wanted to do ? Black screened. No biggie had this problem before and restarted the app. NOPE it restarted the entire day ! this isnt losing a bit of work this was a huge story step and its gonna make me do it all over again. including two cutscenes , how fun ! I get if this is a new thing with 1.5 but I have seen others complain so its been said. I have other problems but this annoyed me so much to make this review in the first place. After a week of writing this review I am now having save locks non stop. I shouldnt be panicking saving a game ! it has ruined 13 days because it will freeze when saving after a day which is normally 13 mins each day ! thats a lot of time ! please fix this issue !
You can’t play multiplayer on mobile. If your app doesn’t work, just close out, swipe everything out and go back in. If it still doesn’t work, restart your iPad/iPhone. You save when you sleep. I have absolutely no experience playing this game and I am having so much fun. This game is just amazing. I like the way play. I like the way you move. I LOVE the pixelated graphics. This just feels amazing to play. You guys did a great job making this. I hope you guys that are having a hard time trying to play can figure it out because once you do, this is the best. Tow things tho, if you could make it easier to befriend the NPCs, be amazing. Also, can you PLEASE make it so we can mod it? That would be so much fun.

Here are some of the glitches i encountered:
- sometimes, you won’t be able to interact with the shop keeper/seller, this glitch can be bypassed by using a controller, but when you do so, the chat menu does open but closes immediately.
- Random crashes when pressing the X button on any menu.
- dungeon glitch where the sword won’t stop swinging although there is no enemy around and there is no way to stop it, even if you open up a menu it force closes it and just continues swinging.( not talking about the auto-attack thing )
This is making the game unplayable for me.
I really like this game! I hope it keeps adding areas ,new characters , new features, pets etc. for years to come! It’s rare for me to find a game I like and keep for years without getting bored and I hate having to keep switching to similar games once I’ve done all I can in one. Especially when I’ve grown attached to it. As long as the price is reasonable I wouldn’t even mind paying for an extension pack or something. Of course I hope all the crashing issues people, and myself, have experienced is the first thing to get fixed! Please keep developing and improving this game!
Stardew valley is my most favorite game ever. There are no adds, and if you want to listen to music while playing you can turn the sound of.
You can marry the townsfolk, and you can have kids. All the NPC’s are super nice, and there are some really fun activities to do, and things to look for.
At the start you get an overgrown area for your farm. You can get animals, crops, a family, etc. You also get a farm house that you can expand, decorate, and have a family in.
I hope you get Stardew Valley, because it’s such an awesome game, and it’s really really fun.
ConcernedApe, the single developer of Stardew Valley, really put his heart and soul into this game and it shows. The worldview expressed in the game’s design and character interactions is clearly one of humanity, compassion, and joy. I feel happy when I play this game, and there’s so much to do and so many ways to progress that each playthrough can be a new and exciting experience if you want it to be. The game isn’t without faults but I consider it a masterpiece regardless, you should give this one a shot.
Amazing game, I can’t express how much I love it. But it crashes ALL THE TIME. It’s so frustrating to have to worry about state saving all the time. I literally have played the same day 9 times now due to it crashing. And from the reviews this is a known issue that nothing being done about. I can’t play on computer because I’m chronically ill and I play from my bed. PLEASE update and fix this. I would put an immediate 5 star review. I just can’t with this constant crusting crashes.
