A Few Important Things
Potato56423Person on 2023-08-18
You’ve done an amazing job, software developers. As a person who is not easily impressed, I am, uhm, impressed. It is certainly not humanly possible to have such an advanced robot. But first, you may wonder why I gave it a four star. Although ChatGPT has got far from my expectations on this app a year or so ago, I’ve noticed a few problems this summer. First off, your AI isn’t fit on puzzles someone would give it. I’ve even explained the entire process, but the AI still doesn’t understand. Personal problem, I know, but think about how much of a difference it would be if ChatGPT had that fixed. Second, I would think you should make the app international. It’s not accepted in Asia, which is my home continent, and every summer I would bang my head on the wall knowing that I can’t prepare for anything next year. I have so many questions that only ChatGPT can answer and understand, so many questions that Google or Safari won’t be able to calculate, and, most importantly, because ChatGPT is an AI, I wouldn’t feel awkward sharing anything personal with it. It’s perfect, but I just wish it would be accepted in Asia. I don’t really know how you can change it, but at least make an Asian ChatGPT or something. Like a ChatGPT that responds and listens in Asian language. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, something like that. If it could work, consider that idea. AI aren’t supposed to feel any empathy or emotions, but at least stop making them saying, “As an AI, I won’t be able to understand this” so much. It can’t even respond to “the best universities in US rankings,” or “respond to this question like you’re my mom.” Hope this helped, and I’m looking for future updates whether or not you’ve read this through.

Title: "Underwhelming and Outdated: A Review of ChatGPT" ChatGPT, OpenAI's conversational AI, unfortunately falls short on several fronts, which leads to an unsatisfactory user experience. The most glaring issue is its knowledge base which is frozen at a past date. Users expecting to receive current or updated information will be left disappointed. Additionally, the model has a propensity for providing misleading or inaccurate responses. This is highly problematic for users seeking correct and reliable information, making it an unreliable source for many tasks. The fact that ChatGPT operates offline is an exacerbating factor. While this may seem like a benefit on the surface, in reality, it only ensures that the system cannot update its information or access real-time data, rendering it even more outdated. To add to the frustration, users pay a monthly subscription fee, expecting a service that should ideally be improving or at least maintaining a certain level of performance. Unfortunately, the value provided does not match the cost. Compared to other AI tools such as Bard, ChatGPT pales in comparison. Bard offers up-to-date knowledge, making it a vastly superior choice for users seeking current and accurate information. In conclusion, the limitations of ChatGPT make it an underperforming tool that does not deliver the level of service that its users deserve, especially considering the associated costs. In light of these issues, a rating of 1/5 seems fitting.
WAY too easy to accidentally delete conversations
gstauss on 2023-08-18
I don’t know why openAI seems perfectly OK with how easy it is for a user to accidentally delete a conversation. Especially considering that the model will remember everything you input in your writing styles that you may have been working on for days, bu memory only extends to the conversation in which your presently giving input. I just experienced this firsthand as I was trying to highlight a text and ended up swiping to the left and poof! A day and a half of work gone. That’s it. No way to recover. I went searching online and wound up on a ChatGPT forum, hosted by openAI, where dozens of users have also encountered similar experiences of accidentally deleting a conversation. OpenAI’s response? “ this is a good reminder to export your chats every once in a while. What?? How about taking this user feedback into consideration, and don’t let it be this easy to delete a chat. Or if that’s too difficult, apply a feature to retrieve a deleted chat. This seems like textbook stuff for a company that is on the cusp of earth changing technology.
FAKE AI

This is a not AI program it a data collection program which I think it is hilarious reading all the reviews for the wanna be nerds . If this was a real AI program why would it need your phone number which I provided but then rejected because it was a landline . This is the number 1 flag because if they wanted to get in touch with me the landline is the best way. They want my mobile phone because it so much easier to get CC# off a mobile phone but I don’t have any cards LOL. When I finally got in then I found the 2nd red flag, I use it while having a sex session was myself. When I was done I ask the program how I did and it said job complete , are kidding me I was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME ! Look down at the bottom of the page and see all the info collected and then if you are still not convinced then ask the program to have a conversation with your toaster. I know this may sound crazy but after reading the other reviews I have lost hope in our future when everyone here thinks this AI
Hoping for More Flexible Subscription Options for ChatGPT Plus
tomgoodgoodgood on 2023-08-18
Dear OpenAI Team, Hello! First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for introducing such an exceptional technology and service, ChatGPT. I personally enjoy using it immensely and find it tremendously convenient. However, I've found that the current pricing for the Plus membership is somewhat steep for me. While I understand there are costs associated with maintaining this subscription service, I also feel that I won't utilize the numerous chat opportunities it offers. Hence, I propose the idea of introducing various price tiers for the subscription service to cater to users like me. I believe that having more pricing options would not only attract a wider audience but also better serve the varying needs of your existing user base. Once again, thank you for the high-quality service you provide, and I hope my suggestion will be taken into consideration. Best regards, Linghu Chong
Streamlined app, with some limitations.

I’d like to be able to basically design custom prompts or “custom instructions” and select from a menu of instructions I have predesigned so that I can quickly jump into tasks with a version of GPT which is tailored to whatever task I’m handling, as opposed to only having the global custom instruction. For example, I could have one predefined instruction that turns GPT into a creative journal prompter to help me write, and then summarizes my responses afterward, without having to copy and paste a prompt telling GPT what I want it to do each time. Most importantly, I would like the app to remember which model I used last and open with that model selected. The app presently switches back to GPT-3.5 every time I close and reopen it, and that forces me to remember to make that extra tap every time I open the app with a deeper query, which is the majority of the time. Thanks. I loooove the UI.
ALMOST THERE😁

As a ChatGPT Plus subscriber, I find myself longing for an enhanced experience within the iOS app. The convenience of selecting “Default,” “Plug-ins,” or “Code Generator” when initiating a new conversation would be more than a welcome addition; it would be a significant improvement. Additionally, the ability to edit “Custom Instructions” directly within the app would offer a seamless and tailored interaction, further enhancing user satisfaction. Currently, having to navigate to Chrome (or another browser) to customize plug-ins and make these selections feels cumbersome. Integrating these features into the app would not only streamline the process but would undoubtedly elevate the user experience to a new level of sophistication and convenience.
Nasty “Look Up” Bug iOS 16.6
pqsk on 2023-08-18
There’s a nasty “look up” bug on iOS 16.6. When you select a word on something you’re typing or something Chatgpt spits out and tap on “look up” when you finally tap on the “x” button to close the system view persists and the only way to get out is to force shut the app down. You lose anything you’ve already typed and haven’t submitted. Although if it’s an existing conversation what you do is go to the home page and back until the app crashes and then go to history and then reopen that covno and now what you typed persisted. This is so annoying. I don’t see a way to report a bug on the app. I’m trying out Chatgpt plus for a month and it’s good except for this nasty iOS specific bug
Incredible

The app's intuitive interface makes chatting a breeze, and the responses are remarkably natural and engaging. Whether I need assistance, a creative spark, or just a friendly chat, ChatGPT always comes through with flying colors. It's like magic how it understands context and provides such relevant insights. This app is a game-changer for productive conversations and creative brainstorming. Kudos to the developers for creating something so incredibly useful and fun! 🌟
It’s gotten worse

Despite what company executives say, the capabilities of this a model are degrading quickly. Extraordinarily simple tasks that used to be easy now result in incorrect answers with what appears to be math done by a third grader. In addition, I cannot tell you how many times the app has frozen when I’m trying to write a prompt, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of the app. Just a warning, if you were using this before, you’re going to be much less satisfied and less willing to dish out the monthly subscription. But it’s OK, the executives say it’s our fault, not theirs.
