They steal your money
Irreverent Fool on 2023-08-18
I had been using DoorDash for a couple of years and had even signed up with the DASHPASS because it did save me money. However, I immediately had poor experiences. I am missing something or something is wrong with my order nine times out of ten. That is not an exaggeration. I understand that for ordered food, it’s really on the restaurant’s side and many restaurants will just put less effort into making sure a DoorDash order is correct. But it’s DoorDash’s abusive policies that made me cancel my membership and stop using the app. I have had orders just not show up and when I demanded a refund, I was told that because I’ve asked for too many refunds they couldn’t give me any more. That’s right. Because I had bad experiences and was missing items in the past, I had exhausted my allowance of refunds for the time period. Nevermind that the dasher’s photo clearly showed a different doorstep. Customer service hung up on me and refused to escalate, even when I said I’d have to do a chargeback if they couldn’t help. They. Do. Not. Care. They make their money on convenience and volume. Delivering someone what they paid for? Not a priority. More recently, when something is wrong with the order, they refund a fraction of the value of the item. “Oh you paid twelve bucks for a pack of soda that were dropped and leaking? Here is $1.53 back.” I was missing a side of overpriced guacamole from Chipotle, which adds something like 2.40 to an order of chips. Not a huge deal but again, they offered a 1.53 refund. No. I paid you for the delivery of specific items and you failed to deliver them. You can at least refund me fully. I really tried to be reasonable but fighting me over 87 cents was really just the last straw. It’s convenient, sure. But if you’re going to be charging that much in “fees” the. You should provide a better service.
Algorithm Rigged for Greed
Hen Rider on 2023-08-18
Purposefully predatory design of the algorithm obviously used to exploit users and small restaurants for greed instead of providing the best service/product possible. The system adjusts over time to maximize its profit by targeting consistent users (even premium) and minimizing their cost-saving options. Customer service and representatives are top notch though, the backbone of DoorDash. EDIT: Major improvement by adding/revamping the Offers section. Still clearly reflective a pay-to-be-seen algorithm. They added an option to delay order for +$2 discount (superb) just to replace that for a paid, expedited delivery option (garbage) — obviously downgrading all customers to the delayed speed for no discount while offering our previously standard speed back to us for extra money (disgusting)... EDIT-EDIT: There's been some solid improvements and some backslides. Do y'all not have UX people on staff or something? 1) EVERY TIME I sort available restaurants by rating, etc. the list glitches and resets between viewing restaurants, so I have to start over constantly. This problem has existed for years and only increased. Are you doing this intentionally to force users to perpetually view only the top (presumingly sponsored) of the sorted list?? 2) Needs a revamp of the sorting/filtering capabilities. I'm not interested in who pays you to be seen, this ain't Ask Jeeves. 3) Also, with how often orders are messed up, maybe you should wait to process payment until after delivery so we don't have to wait 5 business days for our refund to reflect (yes, to original payment) after merchant/dasher errors, so you can amend the original charge instead of refunding it. Affordability, refund policies, and availability are the premier qualities of DoorDash. Never forget the fundamentals.
Terrible Customer Service
Coolbeanjeans on 2023-08-18
While the app itself functions, the customer support that is being outsourced is incredibly frustrating and poor quality. It’s clear that the people working customer service are not properly trained and lack any real authority to resolve issues. This is a clear indicator as to how DoorDash feels about it’s customers - if they did value us then they would make genuine efforts to improve the customer support experience. For reference: I placed an order using the app that was unable to be fulfilled due to the restaurant already giving my order away. That’s fine, it happens. I get connected to a customer support to report this issue. They are unable to understand the issue, and call the restaurant. They refund my order and I request additional credits since between the time I placed the order, get customer support, and reorder the food, over two hours will have elapsed. The customer support agent abruptly disconnects without replying. I reconnect with a new agent who immediately disconnects without attempting to help. The third agent doesn’t understand the situation and takes over 10 minutes to reply and even then is unable to assist. Is this a language barrier issue or do these customer service agents not have the authority to do anything to help in a meaningful way?
Terrible app, disgusting drivers, horrible customer service.
Fran Howard on 2023-08-18
From my personal experience, my issue is with the drivers as their inability to deliver on time cause lotta issues with my food orders. I had the app for a couple of years and I used it on and off overall, I don’t recommend using it because the customer service doesn’t really respond, and I always got my food cold no matter the circumstance. From an outside perspective, I have seen that other former users of DoorDash (whether it’s an ex driver or an ex customer) have dealt with issues with other drivers or customers scamming them. Even if these people provide proof doordash seems to favor the thieves and then punishes those who are scammed by deleting their accounts. They steal your time and your money whether you pay them or work for them. There’s a bunch of videos exposing these issues that all lead right back to the main problem. Doordash’s Customer Service. Find an alternative delivery method!!!
Pathetic.
DoorDash poo poo on 2023-08-18
Me and my wife order on here often as we work opposite shifts of each other and the shifts are long so we don’t always have time to make a meal at home. We constantly have problems with the dashers forgetting items or even the store forgetting items on a regular basis that it has become pathetic and unbelievable. In the last week they have forgotten stuff on every order we have done. Sure they may refund some money but $3.91 refund on a $30 order where multiple items are missing and the food showed up cold and all they say is that’s all we can give you is absolutely pathetic. Me and my wife have had such a terrible experience that I’ve came here and wrote my first ever review for an app in my life. Apparently the dashers in my area in south Texas don’t know how to read what items they are suppose to get at a store. Door dash can literally Ligma
Terrible Experience - Unsanitary Food and No Refund
_GL_22 on 2023-08-18
I recently had the most disappointing experience with Doordash. I ordered food from them and was shocked to receive my order with unwrapped and exposed food items. This is not only unsanitary but also completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, when I reached out to their customer support for a refund, I was met with complete resistance. They refused to refund my item or the entire order, even though it was clearly their mistake that I received subpar and unhygienic food. I am appalled by their lack of concern for their customers' well-being and their unwillingness to rectify the situation. It's evident that Doordash values profits over customer satisfaction and health. I strongly advise everyone to think twice before ordering from Doordash. I deserve better as a paying customer, and so do you.
They took away the vegan button 😂🤦
Gogo8230 on 2023-08-18
I don’t know why I find this funny but seriously, who thought this was a good idea???? I’m at a new location for the day and I’m trying to order some vegan food nearby. But they took away the vegan button! 😂🤦 well done whoever did that. It gets a 2 star review though instead of 1 because I’ve used this app for a long time. You gotta fix this app DoorDash, and feel free to fire whoever the genius was. Edit: they hid the vegan filter on a different page instead of having it on the front page like how it used to be. The front page literally has every filter except vegan. I’ll give the review one more star but still, why in the world would you do this 🤦😂
YOU NEED TO FIX THIS
Frannnnnknnnjkkk on 2023-08-18
I am tired of receiving cold food because you are either allowing or requiring dashers to take multiple orders at the same time. Most of the time you don’t even give the “direct to you” option at checkout, so I have no way to prevent this from happening. My food is sitting in the car getting cold because the dasher is picking up someone else’s order. I use this service A LOT, but I will cancel my dash pass and use another service if this isn’t fixed. You need to AT MINIMUM have the “direct to me” option available on EVERY order, or better yet, just stop allowing multiple orders per dasher per trip. Fix this or I will stop using doordash.
Tell Me, Do You Like…

…apps that over charge on menu items and arbitrage the difference to themselves while publicly acknowledging they charge more to higher income “nicer” areas for the same exact products in the name of “equity?” How about “Dashers” who literally NEVER read drop off instructions, instead, pissing off neighbors with their ham-handed Stru.~~ Only one company is as lackadaisical about stealing from customers while providing zero in return and that’d be Apple Itself. Mymk …if only they hired drivers who read delivery instructions…
Navigation and Awareness
wtfsmilingdee on 2023-08-18
I have the numbers of my address on my front porch and on my mailbox. Somehow all the delivery people can’t seem to find my house. When someone does respond via text or call, they have no clue which house they left the order at. Since I can’t validate the food on the porch of other homes, I’m consistently having to report my missing meals. Is there something wrong with the navigation system? Or is it just those rushing to their next delivery? The company should do something about the number of missing meals people encounter.
