Timeless enjoyment

I’ve played this game semi consistently for nearly 7 years. 7 YEARS. I went into high school playing and started college playing this game. Never has there been a game so user friendly yet also so customizable and complex. You can mindlessly play or strategize endlessly. It’s a game for everyone and has little to no downsides. Fun animation and exquisite mechanics. Supercell is fantastic and has made several phenomenal mobile games but Clash of Clans undoubtedly takes the cake. In short, if you’re wondering whether you should or shouldn’t get this I game, I strongly suggest you at least give it a try. It doesn’t take too much time unless you want it too and it appeals to nearly all types of mobile game enjoyers.

Still the same old thing

This game gets old super fast. It is interesting and addictive at first, but turns boring rather quickly. Game play is the same thing every time, you attack somebody and somebody attacks you. Nothing ever changes. The game is designed to progress extremely slowly, and to speed things up you can spend real money. Spending real money to speed up the game is fruitless and a complete waste, don't be fooled into falling for the game designers trap. The designers make regular updates and frequently change the game, but these updates do nothing to correct the fundamental problems with this game. There are much better games available. Pass on this one.

Builder Base 2.0

I was really excited for the new builder base upgrade but alas Supercell has failed again to execute it with fair game play. They base your matches against other players solely on trophy count versus builder hall level. I’m a builder base 7 and just today every match I was put up against was a level 9 or 10. How is this supposed to be fair game play? It does nothing but piss you off because you don’t have a prayer of defeating the base or getting any money from the attack. So therefore it inevitably makes it that much more difficult to be able upgrade your troops or your base. What an absolute waste of time and a huge miss by these guys.

Something changed

I’ve been playing for almost 10 years now, I’ve spent nearly a thousand dollars over that course of time. The current state of the game has become to meta, you can use your favorite troops at certain THs or leagues. The loot pools are smaller while the upgrades get unrealistic. It shames me to leave such a low rating on one of my all time favorites but it’s not what I remember playing. I’ll probably purchase the $5 season pass but the days of gems and promo buys are unfortunately over for me. My ballonion strategy shouldn’t be getting creamed before the first layer of defense when both my balloons and minions are max level.

Monthly pass overrated

I used to enjoy playing clash of clans while occasionally purchasing the monthly pass to speed up production times. The pass used to cost 4.99 but now they raised it to 6.99?? Seriously? I understand inflation has gone up but it doesn’t seem fair to me how supercell is choosing to make it’s supporters pay more while offering less benefits with the pass. I used to buy the pass for both of my accounts but now the pass isn’t worth the 7 dollars . I rather use that money to buy myself a meal. I rather get a Hulu subscription for a dollar more since your prices are competing with better services at this point.

The wait times are absolutely insane but hey you can definitely speed them up a slight bit for 6.99 a month! Give me a break…. Don’t get me wrong its a fun game but in recent years the game is definitely showing it’s for profits and not for players. MY SUGGESTION: -reduce upgrade times significantly -lower the price on gold pass -be more transparent on when skins and sceneries will come back to the store -stop tweaking with builder base, there was nothing wrong with it in the first place ……………………………………………………………… - A sad clasher

Account restoration

It is impossible to restore my account that I’ve had since I was a kid. My old phone broke and I’ve had this game since grade school and I’m supposed to know what year and month I first downloaded the game as well as the first phone I played the game on. I’ve reached out to support 5+ times and they are very quick to end the chat and claim my account isn’t mine even tho it is still connected to my SIM card. Fix your support team I want my Clan back. Supercell isn’t great and their support is even worse.

You already heard all the praise I'm here to talk about the upgrade times... Holy crap I don't want to wait for my builder to take a WHOLE WEEK to take apart and then rebuild and then take apart again then forget about the project completely. 1WEEK FOR A BOMB THAT PROBABLY WONT EVEN BE USED. DID HE SPEND 5 OF THE 7 DAYS SLEEPING OR SUM BECAUSE IT TAKES A STUPID HUGE AMOUNT OF TIME TO UPGRADE. I have friends that log in once a week because all they can do is wait for upgrades to finish.

So one day I was pooping like I am writing this review and guys it as bad like really really bad and I played for the first time and I was there for hours nothing but to Play and have the worst stomachache I will ever feel you see I work and build roofs and my coworker handed me a good thing of gummy bears and I pooped my pant and ran for the portapotty now I am a 37 year old who loves this game bc it is the only thing that got me through it five stars

Good game but not perfect

This game has great. It lets you build your base, attack others, and clan wars. There’s just 1 small problem. And that’s with the multiplayer battles. Once you’ve gotten pretty far into the game, you will realize that the multiplayer battle basically only let you attack someone 1 or more townhalls above you. Giving you zero to no chance to 3 star them. The progression also slows down a lot at the higher stages.
